Our gallery in Khandallah Village is now permanently closed

Situated in the Northern suburb of Khandallah, our Wellington art gallery was established in June 2018 following the success of a pop-up exhibition of the work of late New Zealand artist Leonard Victor Mitchell. For six years our small team was dedicated to supporting local artists and creatives and boasted an ever-changing display of original artworks – paintings, etchings, drawings and mixed media works – as well as limited and open edition fine art prints, New Zealand made ceramics, sculpture, jewellery, homewares and books. Mitchell Studios was proud to curate and host over 30 solo and group exhibitions and details of these can be found on our exhibitions page. We will remain forever grateful to the artists we were privileged to work with and the community who supported us. Although the gallery closed in June 2024, this website remains a portal for the work of our original artist, Leonard Victor Mitchell, and we are delighted to continue to represent Lower Hutt artist Phillip Waddington as well as the late Guy Ngan.
